ABOUT
Our Background

Founded nationally in 1832 and brought to Florida State University in 2009, the Florida Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi has spent over a decade building a brotherhood rooted in personal growth, ambition, and gentlemanly character. What began as a tight-knit group living in a small house at 402 W College Avenue—now a local restaurant—has since grown into a thriving, purpose-driven chapter at the heart of College Avenue.

A Timeline of Brotherhood and Growth
2009–2014: Foundations & Survival
The early years were focused on building a core group of brothers committed to each other and the ideals of Alpha Delta Phi. Living in what’s now “Brick House,” the brotherhood weathered the challenges of being a young chapter, celebrating highs like FSU’s 2014 National Championship season before moving to Heritage Grove.
2014–2018: Growth & Identity
In Heritage Grove, the chapter began to take shape. Membership grew to around 50 brothers, signature social events like Boogie Nights and the Travis Porter Animal House party put Alpha Delt on the map, and the Crescent Housing Corporation was founded to unite alumni and support future growth. Philanthropy emerged as a central value, with the Crawfish Broil raising funds to stop soldier suicide.
2018–2019: The Turning Point
After the Greek Life shutdown of 2017, fall 2018 became do-or-die. The chapter responded with ambition—recruiting a powerhouse fall class of 18 men, saving funds, and working closely with Crescent Housing to return to College Avenue. In summer 2019, the chapter proudly moved into 423 W College Ave, its current home.
2019–Present: Mission-Driven Momentum
Settling into their permanent home, the chapter refocused on the mission of Alpha Delta Phi: to provide a comprehensive and positive personal growth experience—social, ethical, leadership, scholastic, community service, and literary. Even COVID couldn’t slow them down.
By 2022, the chapter had hit every major goal they set:
-
Winning Relay for Life
-
Hosting Kaivon at a spring event
-
Launching Ferda Community Fridays and other volunteer programs
-
Winning national awards like Most Improved Chapter and President of the Year
-
Graduating members into elite jobs and internships via alumni networking
-
Building a full basketball court behind the house
-
And most notably—growing the chapter to over 100 members, establishing Alpha Delt as one of the strongest and most respected fraternities on campus
This wasn’t just growth—it was a transformation.
Who We Are Today
Today, the Florida Chapter is built on three pillars: Ambition, Brotherhood, and Becoming Honorable Men.
We believe in setting goals and smashing them. Whether it’s placing first in philanthropy, hosting the best spring events in the state (LF System, 2025), or helping brothers land their dream internships, Alpha Delt is where men become their best.
