The term 'Sword & Spear' broadly encompasses the three unique alumni boards that advise and manage the affairs of the student chapter of Florida State Alpha Delta Phi:
Lifetime Membership
The Sword & Spear Alumni, Inc. is a Florida-based 501(c)(7) not-for-profit corporation founded on June 17, 2025. It exists to empower alumni of the Florida Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi to carry the brotherhood far beyond their undergraduate years—into careers, families, and lifelong friendships.

As a membership-based organization open to all initiated alumni in good standing, the Sword & Spear Alumni Association is more than a database—it’s a living network. Our mission is to ensure that the bonds formed at Florida State only strengthen over time. We do this by facilitating professional development, organizing meaningful life experiences like regional meetups and alumni-led trips, and creating space for brotherhood that evolves with you.

We believe that lifetime membership is not just a ceremonial title—it's a commitment to growing with the values of Alpha Delta Phi. Through curated communications, shared achievements, and a network that shows up for one another, Sword & Spear gives every alumnus a place to stay connected, stay involved, and stay inspired.
Long-Term Establishment
One of the core pillars of Sword & Spear Alumni, Inc. is the stewardship of our chapter house at 423 W College Avenue—the physical heart of the Florida Chapter. This responsibility is managed through our Housing Silo, a dedicated group of alumni focused on the long-term care, improvement, and financial sustainability of the property.

Our aim is not just to maintain a building, but to preserve a space where generations of Alpha Delts have forged friendships, built traditions, and found their sense of belonging. By treating the chapter house as a long-term investment—both in property and in people—we ensure that future brothers have a safe, vibrant, and meaningful home during their undergraduate years.

Through responsible leasing, proactive upkeep, and strategic planning, the Housing Silo helps protect our legacy while supporting the continued success of the active chapter.
Undergraduate Mentorship
Separate from Sword & Spear Alumni, Inc., the Board of Alumni Advisors is an independent volunteer organization made up of alumni who work directly with the undergraduate members of the Florida Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi. While Sword & Spear focuses on alumni engagement, events, and housing stewardship, the Board of Alumni Advisors exists solely to support the active chapter through mentorship and leadership development.

Led by a Chapter Advisor and composed of alumni from a variety of backgrounds, the Board provides hands-on guidance to help undergraduate brothers uphold the values of Alpha Delta Phi and navigate the responsibilities of chapter life. From academic and professional growth to event planning and risk management, the Board plays a vital role in shaping a safe, principled, and high-performing chapter culture.

By serving as mentors and stewards of tradition, the Board of Alumni Advisors helps ensure that each new generation of brothers is equipped to lead with purpose—and that the legacy of Alpha Delta Phi continues to thrive at Florida State.
